timeBro is an intelligent time recording software / activity tracker that automatically measures all computer activities, calendar appointments and absence times. timeBro displays the automatically tracked times in chronological order or as a list to help users allocate times to projects as quickly and precisely as possible. After that timeBro exports times and comments to their integrated project software or to MS Excel.

timeBro is mainly used by companies and self-employed persons who want to track their working hours for projects, customers, clients or tickets. timeBro always records only the activity that is currently active in the foreground - i.e. the window in which the user is active with mouse and keyboard. For example, if the user writes an e-mail while listening to music, timeBro only measures the duration of the e-mail.

1. If the exact duration of a call is to be recorded, the user can simply lock his screen. (Windows: [Windows key] + [L] or on Mac: [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [Shutdown]) This immediately causes timeBro to capture an absence time, which is reported by a notification later and can be renamed. 2.However, this is often not necessary, because scheduled calls are usually entered in the calendar. 3. In case of spontaneous calls, a computer activity which matches the topic/project of the respective call usually takes place at the same time. In order to be able to respond to the topic of the call, the called person usually opens a relevant file or e-mail. This helps to determine the time and topic of the call later. 4. Projects are created in timeBro Basic by the user himself.

There is a legal obligation to record all working hours based on a ruling by the Court of Justice of the EU (ECJ Case C-55/18 of May 14, 2019). The data to be recorded and the quality requirements for the time recording systems are high: According to the requirements of the Court of Justice, they must be reliable, objective and easily accessible.
TimeBro fulfills these requirements, as it is the only way to continuously record times in an objectively correct manner. Any estimated retrospective capture is always subjective.

The BGH has set out in consistent case law, most recently with a judgment of 13.02.2020 - IX ZR 140/19 - that only times that have actually been performed may be put on record. These times may only be billed according to the agreed time grid, ideally in 1 minute or 6 minute increments. 15-minute increments are also permitted. The description of the recorded and billed times must provide correct information about which services have been provided.
